Just recently, Miley Cyrus released her new single named ‘Malibu’. This is the first that we have heard of Cyrus in a while. Her last release was with her album ‘Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz’ which featured 23 songs mostly titled with names of her dogs, and featured a psychedelic sound with help from The Flaming Lips. Ever since her 2013 release of ‘Bangerz’, Cyrus has presented us with an ‘I don’t care’ attitude with her clothing, song writing, and on stage performances. Most of her songs on these two albums have featured mostly electronic sounds, and an off beat melody.
This new release is a complete 180 from the last couple years, and features prominent use of guitar and drums. The sound sounds like a “back to roots” song with the use of her lyrics. Cyrus shared in an interview with Rolling Stone that although she would still love to portray her “I don’t care” attitude, with todays political climate it didn’t seem like the time. She wanted to convey love and togetherness while the country, and world, is falling apart.
Many big names in music have already taken to Twitter to help promote Cyrus in a positive light.

The rest of her album is supposed to drop sometime this year. With the excitement and positive response of this release, I can see a summer soundtrack heading our way. Here is the video below!
